IQOS 3 DUO in Brilliant Gold

What do the Lights on IQOS Mean?

Are you new to IQOS and unsure of what the different lights mean? Find out what each colour signals and what you need to do with help from our guide.

Have you ever wondered what those bright lights on your IQOS device mean? They can signal a number of things, and each light colour has its own meaning depending on which device you own. Even blinking and steady lights happen for different reasons! We’re here to explain exactly what each light signals and what actions you may need to take when you see them. From the IQOS 3 DUO and the IQOS 3 Multi to the IQOS 2.4 Plus, we’ve got you covered for all of your light-related questions. Also, know that you can always contact us should you need any further assistance, or you may use the online IQOS self-diagnostic tool.

The meaning behind red and white lights

If you have an IQOS device, you’ve no doubt noticed that there are two lights you see frequently: the white light and the red light. When the IQOS white light is on, your device is signalling that it is performing a certain activity. This can vary from indicating that your device is currently charging, is completely charged, that it is reinitializing, or that it is ready to use. If your IQOS white light is blinking twice, it is a sign that your device is outside of its working temperature of 0°C to 50°C. The minute the light stops blinking, you can use your device as usual.

The IQOS red light signals an issue. It appears even when there is a slight chance that your device isn’t working the way we promised it would. We want to ensure that when there is a problem with your device, you’ll know about it right away, so that we can help you resolve it as quickly as possible.

Your IQOS 3 DUO and IQOS 3 Multi

Lights show up in different places depending on the device you own. For instance, when you have an IQOS 3 DUO, the white IQOS charging light appears at the top of the device, and for the IQOS 3 Multi, it shows up at the bottom. The status light on your IQOS 3 Multi will turn solid white once your device is ready to use. During normal use of either of these devices, the light will pulse white to signal that you’ve reached the last 30 seconds on your HEET tobacco stick. If the IQOS 3 DUO’s lights are blinking white twice, it can mean that the device is outside operating temperature range, or that the Holder needs to be inserted into your Pocket Charger with the door closed until it is fully charged.

If your IQOS 3 holder, charger or Multi blinks red, the first thing you should do is reset the device. If the IQOS charging light turns red as you are charging your device, you’ll need to unplug the cable, remove the holder from the pocket charger, clean the connector and put it back in. This is a quick and easy way to troubleshoot the issue. If this doesn’t resolve the issue, our online IQOS self-diagnostic tool is your next line of defense. First, select the name of your device, then follow the instructions on screen. If none of these tips work, don’t hesitate to contact us. We’re always available and happy to work with you to resolve any issues you may be experiencing.

Your IQOS 2.4 Plus holder

When it comes to the IQOS 2.4 Plus holder, the white light is part of the device’s normal operation. You’ll know you can release the Heating Button (the button positioned below “IQOS” on your device) once the light begins to pulse white. And when the light has transitioned to solid white, you’ll know your device is properly heated and ready to be enjoyed. As with other models, your IQOS 2.4 Plus holder’s light will begin to pulse white once you’ve reached the last 30 seconds of use.

When the oval-shaped light at the top of your device is red, it could mean that your IQOS holder is not charged, it’s outside its operating temperature, or that the IQOS holder button was pressed during usage. To try to resolve this issue on your own, check to see if the IQOS 2.4 Plus pocket charger is on and has enough power, verify the holder’s electric contact to see if it’s clean, and make sure your device is fully charged. Finally, try resetting your device. A pulsing IQOS red light on the IQOS 2.4 Plus pocket charger while charging indicates that the holder battery will need to be replaced soon. If you’re seeing this pulsing red light, contact IQOS Care for support.
